ICM'98
D.5 Proceedings
All Plenary and Invited Lectures as well as the
congress report will be published in the Proceedings of the
International Congress of Mathematicians, Berlin, 1998. These
Proceedings will appear as a special volume of DOCUMENTA
MATHEMATICA (Journal der Deutschen Mathematiker-Vereinigung),
whose electronic version is available at
or
The editors of the Extra Volume are Gerd Fischer
(Duesseldorf) and Ulf Rehmann (Bielefeld).
A printed version will be distributed to all Ordinary Members
of the Congress (except for the student members).
There will also be a free internet version under the above WWW addresses.
Volumes II and III of the ICM'98 proceedings will be distributed
at the Congress
Thanks to the efforts of all persons involved, in particular, of Ulf
Rehmann (who is doing all the technical editing) Volumes II and III of
the ICM'98 proceedings went to the printer in the evening of Friday,
July 17. The books will be printed in Bavaria and shipped to Berlin on
August 17 so that we can distribute them to every ordinary ICM'98
member at the beginning of the Congress!
These two volumes will contain 160 of the 166 invited section
presentations. They have 883 and 827 pages, respectively, and will be
produced as hardcover books.
Volume I will contain the plenary addresses, the words of welcome
at the Opening Ceremony, the laudationes and photos of the prize
winners, the list of participants, and general information about
ICM'98. Most of the material of Volume I can only be produced
after the Congress.
We plan to finish Volume I right after the end of the Congress. This
volume will be mailed to every Ordinary ICM'98 Member. (We will use
the address under which you registered. So, please check
it if you don't want the book parcel to get lost.)
Shipping
Some ICM'98 participants are planning to spend a longer period in
Europe after attending ICM'98 and do not want to carry the heavy
books on their trip. We have contacted the Deutsche Post and several
transportation companies and found that the Deutsche Post provides
the cheapest offer.
Please contact the conference office H 2036; we
will have a counter where you can deliver your proceedings, fill out
an address label, etc. Your two proceedings volumes will then be
shipped to your home address at a price of DM 20.-.
Proceedings Prices, On-Site Sale, Special Offer
The sales price for the ICM'98 proceedings was set to
for the 3 volume hardcover set (ca. 2400 pages), including
transportation to any place in the world.
However, at ICM'98 we will make the following special offer to
all registered participants (including registered students, of
course). We will only charge
for the 3 volume hardcover set (no more than 2 sets per registered
participant will be sold). Volumes II and III will be handed out to
the buyer at the time of purchase (they can be shipped as described in
"Shipping" if desired). Volume I will be shipped, after production, to
the address the buyer specifies at purchase of the proceedings.
This special offer is available at the souvenir counter in the Main Building of TU
Berlin.
