Connectivity

Just how do you want to connect to the Internet: slow versus fast, cheap versus expensive?   It's a matter of "you get what you pay for".  Here are the more common options, listed from least expensive to most expensive:

Option Connectivity Speed
Modems via Phone Lines 14.4, 28.8, 33.6, or 56 Kbps
Modems via Cable 10-Mbps
ISDN Lines A pair of 64 Kbps data lines, or channels, that can be combined for 128-Kbps
DSL Connections 8-Mbps

For more information on Internet connection options, read Bill Howard's Opinions in PC Magazine or Suite101.com's article.   Remember to click the  "Back" button on your browser to come back to this site when finished with each article.
