Computer Virus - Is any program that replicates itself with malicious intent. If a program doesn't replicate itself, it isn't a virus.

Viruses can be broken down into three main types:

• Program - This is any form of executable file including, i.e., .com, .exe, .drv, .sys, .bin, etc.

• Boot - Boot record, master boot, FAT, partition table.

• Multipartite - both program and boot infector
