Call for Papers - Library and Information Science Journals SectionTheme: Blurring the Boundaries - Changing the Way in Which We Create, Distribute and Utilise Knowledge in LIS Journals Technical developments are dissolving the traditional links in the information chain, such that the future-oriented library faces the challenge of organising itself to deliver information products and services which are in multi and constantly evolving media. This includes LIS research and professional journals. "Blurring the boundaries" seeks to bring together experts representing some of the new models which are evolving within and without the LIS journals information chain. They will examine emerging trends such as:
The perspectives of LIS practitioners, academics, publishers, agents/vendors and users are invited. The conference takes place in Berlin, Germany 1-9 August 2003. No financial support can be provided, but a special invitation can be issued to authors of accepted papers. Papers must be submitted in one of the official IFLA languages (English, French, German, Russian, Spanish) Important dates Deadline for: Proposals in the form of a brief (max 500 word) abstract: 30 December 2002 Notification of acceptance/rejection of proposals: 1 February 2003 Submission of full papers: 1 May 2003 Send to:Dr Gary E.
