Applied Statistics

Applied Statistics will explain the why's and wherefore's of the various concepts and formulas that arise in the world of statistics. This electronic book contains Mathcad implementations of the statistical formulas discussed for use by the occasional or professional statistician.

This book addresses the method of statistical decisionmaking known as hypothesis testing and some of the methods involved in data analysis.

The discussion of hypothesis testing serves two purposes:

• To offer guidance in the setting up of hypothesis tests through discussion of many of the common (and a few uncommon) tests used in practice
• To demonstrate how to perform hypothesis tests using Mathcad's functionality
