Abstract for Sfb Preprint No. 325
Discrete Integrable Geometry and Physics A. I. Bobenko and R. Seiler (Eds.)
In: A.I. Bobenko, R. Seiler (eds.) Discrete Integrable Geometry and Physics, Oxford University Press 1999, pp. vii-xxvii
Discrete integrable geometry is a newly emerging field of mathematics with strong ties to physics and considerable potential for computer graphics. The book intends to introduce into this field, to present its current status, and to lead to the questions presently under investigation. There is, however, no complete theory about this subject, yet. For that reason much of the book is devoted to examples. To be published by Oxford University Press, 1998.
