The Bundesarchiv (federal archive) is the largest public archive in Germany. Most German federal records for the years after 1945 are housed in Koblenz, those for the years before 1945 in Berlin. The Bundesarchiv is the repository of most of the official records of the federal ministries (except the Foreign Office).
