Battle and Rey O. Harris? There was an article about the authors in the April 3rd, 1995 issue of _LC Information Bulletin_. It does not mention the publisher, ISBN, or price. If anyone knows how to go about purchasing this title please contact me directly at the above e-mail address. Subject: Interloc for Book Sales Part of my responsibilities as Gifts Librarian include book sales. I am always trying to find more efficient and profitable means for disposing of unwanted titles. Our geographical location and population base make it hard to sell or donate all of our duplicates locally. Has anyone used INTERLOC, an electronic book market begun about a year or so ago? They sent me their newsletter resulting from an inquiry I made when they first began and of course, they describe phenomenal growth and success. I wish to hear from anyone in the library world using this system for selling or for purchasing OP titles so I can make a recommendation to our administration about using them for selling our dups and buying OP titles on our desiderata list. ========================================================= Howard C. I would like to thank everyone for their responses to my request about the interest in a possible new list discussing Out of Print topics. The results is a resounding NO. 85% of the respondents prefer we keep the discussions on the other lists. Thank you again. Carole R. Bell Acting Head. Serials & Acq. Northwestern Univ. Vogt (N. Ill. Univ.) Subject: Adopt-a-Journal Programs I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who has had experience with an "adopt a journal" program - successful or otherwise. Did you pursue the idea of donations of expensive journals to alleviate the current pricing problem or did you solicit new titles of popular interest which might otherwise not be purchased? If you have sample solicitation letters, etc., I'd be grateful if you would be willing to share examples. Did you solicit from groups as well as individuals? Please respond directly to me. If there is interest, I'd be more than happy to share the responses. This message will be crossposted to Acqnet and Serialst. Pardon the inconvenience. Yes, I know of AcqWeb, and of UCSD's and MIT's, but I'd like to look at more acquisitions home pages and see what I can exploit to improve our acquisitions home page here at the University of Washington Libraries. I'd also appreciate any comments on our page, whose address is: http://staffweb.lib.washington.edu/acq/ This page includes information for book selectors on our campus as well as for acquisitions staff here. Among other documents, it includes our annual and monthly acquisitions reports, our US vendor assignment list, vendor performance studies and many other items that other acquisitions departments may find of interest. Please e-mail me directly with your Web addresses and I'll share a summary list with ACQNET.
