Paolo Buonora
Paolo Buonora earned a degree in Philosophy at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" (1976). He has worked in the Italian State Archive Administration since 1978, where in the State Archive of Rome he has been in charge of the Photograph service and Information System management. Since 1997, he has planned and directed the Imago II project for the digitization of archival materials. He has also created and directed the Digital Laboratory in the Centre for Preservation of the State Archives with regard to digital image technology and digital libraries. Between 2000 and 2004 he was a member of the ICA Committee on Information Technology and a member of the Steering Committee of Digicult, an IST Support Measure of the European Commission, establishing a regular technology watch: <http://www.digicult.info/pages/index.php>.

Gene Golovchinsky
Gene Golovchinsky is a Senior Research Scientist at FX Palo Alto Laboratory, where he leads the Usable Smart Environments group. Gene received a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in 1996 in Human Factors (Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering). His interests include user interfaces for information seeking, dynamic hypertext, and pen-based computing. He has co-organized workshops at CSCW, SIGIR, and CHI conferences.

Rebecca S. Guenther
Rebecca Guenther is Senior Networking and Standards Specialist in the Network Development and MARC Standards Office of the Library of Congress. Her current responsibilities include work on national and international information standards, primarily in the area of metadata, including MARC and a number of XML metadata standards. She is chair of the PREMIS Editorial Committee and was co-chair of the OCLC/RLG PREMIS Working Group, which developed the PREMIS Data Dictionary. She also serves as chair of the ISO 639 Joint Advisory Committee on language codes.

Kat Hagedorn
Kat Hagedorn is Metadata Harvesting Librarian at the University of Michigan Libraries. She is responsible for the OAIster project, a union catalog of digital objects built from OAI harvested records from around the world. Additionally, she is the Data Analyst on the American Social History Online project, creating services for distributed digital library content in the area of American culture. She was named a Library Journal Mover & Shaker in 2005. Her previous experience is in information architecture (with Argus Associates) and ontology consulting (with United Nations FAO in Rome). She has a Masters in Information Science from the University of Michigan.

Peter B. Hirtle
Peter B. Hirtle is the Intellectual Property Officer for the Cornell University Library. He also serves as the Technology Strategist for the Library's Public Services and Assessment Division. Previously, Hirtle served as Director of the Cornell Institute for Digital Collections and as Associate Editor of D-Lib Magazine. He is a Fellow and Past President of the Society of American Archivists, was a member of the Copyright Office's Section 108 Study Group, and is a contributing author to the LibraryLaw.com blog.

Franco Liberati
Franco Liberati has an undergraduate and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Rome "La Sapienza" (2000). He focuses on compression algorithms and their implementation on parallel machines, theory and algorithms for pattern recognition, machine learning and visualization, mobile devices and interactive digital television. He is a Research Fellow at the Computer Science Department of the University of Rome where he also teaches. Since 2003 he has collaborated with the Centre for Preservation at the State Archives.

Carol Minton Morris
Carol Minton Morris is the Communications Director for the National Science Digital Library (NSDL) <http://NSDL.org> and Fedora Commons <http://fedora-commons.org>. She is also a research associate in the digital libraries group in Cornell Information Science <http://www.infosci.cornell.edu/dl/dl-people.html>. Her interests are informed by her background in publishing and the visual arts and include community development around establishing collaborative communications systems and tools for distributed content creation. She is the founding editor of NSDL Whiteboard Report <http://content.nsdl.org/wbr/Issue.php?issue=current> featuring information from NSDL projects and programs nationwide since 2000.

Meredith Ringel Morris
Meredith Ringel Morris is a researcher in the Adaptive Systems and Interaction group at Microsoft Research. Her research interests include human-computer interaction and computer-supported cooperative work. Dr. Morris received her Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University, where she developed novel interaction techniques to support group work around interactive tabletops. More recently, her research has focused on creating and evaluating systems to support collaborative Web search.

Jeremy Pickens
Jeremy Pickens is a Research Scientist at FX Palo Alto Laboratory, where he is a member of the Multimedia Access and Visualization group. Jeremy received his Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2004 from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst). His interests include algorithms for information retrieval, collaborative search, and music indexing and retrieval.

Joshua Santelli
Joshua Santelli joined the Digital Library Production Service (DLPS) at the University of Michigan Library in June 2007 as a computer programmer. He is actively working on Digital Library eXtension Service (DLXS), the OAIster project and the UM OAI toolkit. Prior to that, he was an application developer at the Cornell University Library working on scholarly communication initiatives such as Project Euclid and DPubS. He is also currently pursuing a MSI degree at the School of Information at the University of Michigan.

Belinda Weaver
Belinda Weaver is the Manager of UQ eSpace, the institutional digital repository of The University of Queensland (UQ). From 2003-2007, she was the local co-ordinator of eScholarshipUQ, the local testbed of the four-year Australian Partnership for Sustainable Repositories project. During the project, Belinda oversaw the development of the Fez digital repository software, based on Fedora, that runs UQ eSpace. She also contributed to many APSR events on repository creation and development. She is currently looking at ways to improve the showcasing of UQ research, including the use of profiles.
