Saturday, June 25 - 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Castle Beach Club - Theatre BR (number 5 on the ALA map) Rapidly rising prices, an explosion of new publications in all formats, and the emergence of alternative methods of access to information have all come to be realities in our lives. The ACRL Journal Costs Discussion Group will explore these issues at our meeting during ALA Annual Conference. Three presenters will give ideas of ways in which we can manage our future. These papers will serve as a starting point for our discussion. October Ivins, Head Acquisitions and Serials Services, LSU Libraries, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge will present "The Serials Survey Project: Zero Based Collection Development at LSU". Her talk will highlight LSU's innovative approaches to collection management. Janet Fisher, Associate Director for Journals Publishing, MIT Press will present "Electronic Journals and the Management of Information: The View from One Publisher's Window". Her talk will ask the question "How are librarians and publishers going to respond to the demand for electronic journals". Ms. Fisher will describe MIT Press's new electronic journal, _Chicago Journal of Theoretical Computer Science_, and its differences from print journals. Martha Whittaker, General Manager, The UnCover Company will present "Document Delivery and Collection Management - Strange Bedfellows?"
