M-Bed(sm) is available at http://www.public.iastate.edu/~CYBERSTACKS/M-Bed.htm Common types of multimedia include audio and video files as well as two-dimensional and 3-D models, and supplemental datasets. As a adjunct to the registry, I have also compiled a General Bibliography of key works on Web multimedia that include Web sites as well as recent and forthcoming books and articles that I believe will be of interest to a wide audience. As Always, Any and All contributions, comments, queries, critiques, questions, etc. etc. regarding multimedia e-journals or candidate book titles about multimedia on the Web are Most Welcome. Facets and Movies Unlimited are also good sources. A Yahoo or Alta Vista search of the web might also find other vendors. Mack (Lehigh Univ) Subject: re: O.P. video vendors There's a big media website at Berkeley, which I'm sure I got to originally from AcqWeb. The URL for the part that relates to used or OP videos is: http://sunsite.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/db_mrc.pl?type=Used I actually went there a few days ago, checked a couple of sites, and found what I wanted at VideoOyster. At first, I was concerned about the reliability of such an operation, but we got what we wanted very promptly. Helen P. This was not our idea but was imposed from the above. I am in the process of reviewing the tender and making recommendations. I would like to find out if there are colleagues out there who are satisfied with being supplied by tender so that I can share their views. My problem is that the tender was won by overseas suppliers and none of the local suppliers had the capacity to share the cake because the tender specified that only one company would supply the library. I am looking forward to sharing ideas with colleagues with experience out there. Thanking you for your assistance, Regards, Nini M N. Would any large public library systems be willing to share with us a blank copy of any RFP that they have used recently for books/cataloging/processing? Please reply to me directly. Thank you!
