
"Contemporary Collection Development: What's Happening to Serials Collections?" June 9, 1997.

This was a series of three presentations addressing issues in serials collection development, followed by questions and discussion. Tina Chrzastowski, Chemistry Librarian, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, compared the results of three related studies on trends in journal cancellation at academic libraries (for cites, contact her at chrz@uiuc.edu. Thea Welsh and Katherine Jursik, librarians at 3M, described criteria and methods developed for journal collection development in their corporate library setting. Gad Engler, Engineering & Patents Reference Librarian at Louisiana State University, presented two methods for journal cost-benefit analysis based on user survey results.
