Articles may provide the most current information on your topic. Articles appear in periodicals (magazines, journals, and newspapers). Magazine articles are useful for brief, general, introductory information. Journal articles from scholarly or professional journals provide more scholarly or technical information. These articles are usually written by scholars in a particular field.

Newspaper articles are good sources for current, general information.

    Is the information current enough for your project?
  • Is the information reliable?
    Is the author/producer of the information given?
    Are the credentials of the author/producer of the information given?
    Did the information come from an "authoritative source?
  •  Is the information complete?
    Does the information source extensively cover your topic?
  • Is the information accurate
    Is the information is presented as fact?
    Is the information biased?
