This section describes how to display, edit and update an existing MARC holdings record (MHLD) in the LTCU production file on NOTIS.

If no MARC holdings record exists for the copy control number specified, the system displays the message: REQUESTED COPY NOT IN RECORD
If a MARC holdings record exists for the copy control number specified, the system displays the MHLD.
Editing a MARC Holdings Statement
To change the order of MARC holdings statements, change the repeat number following the MARC tag. Example
To change the fixed fields, tags, indicators or contents of MHLD, place the cursor on the data to be edited. Add, delete, or type over the data. Example
If the MARC holdings data is too long for a single 866, 867 or 868, repeat the field. Unlike the old VHLD lines, MHLD fields can continue in paragraph form up to approximately 512 characters. Begin new 866/867/868 fields at logical points in the holdings data for the OPAC display.
