Abstract

In the present study, six clinically healthy dogs were examined, as to formation and conduction of stimulus, and refractory parameters of the heart, to test - with the help of His-bundles-electrography - cardiac effects of the combination propionylpromazin-levomethadone. All refractory parameters of the AV-node were measured under basic stimulation. They show a significant shortening compared to reference datas in literature with awake dogs (Atlee et al., 1984; Pinto, et al., 1989; Schwartz et al., 1985; Schwartz et al., 1988; Walker et al., 1989). In addition, there is a tendency to an extension of ERP V, and a shortening of the H1-V1-interval under propionylpromazin-levomethadone-neuroleptanalgesia. Other parameters are not significantly different. As a conclusion we show that the combination propionylpromazin/levo-methadone can also be used in patients with low-grade cardiopathy if attention is paid to the metabolic situation and to the operation method.
