Abstract for Sfb Preprint No. 479
The problem of integrable discretization: Hamiltonian approach. A skeleton of the book Yuri B. Suris
This is a "skeleton" of an expository monograph which can simultaneously serve as a handbook on integrable discretization. It contains 25 chapters. Chapters 1 and 2 are devoted to the general Hamiltonian theory and to the r-matrix (Hamiltonian) approach to integrable systems. The rest of the book consists of Chapters 3-25, devoted to 23 various classes of integrable systems. The first Section of each Chapter contains the outline of the Chapter, inculding the basic equations. The last Section of each Chapter contains bibliographical remarks. These first and last Sections, together with the reference list, constitute the skeleton of the book. The flesh, containing the detailed exposition of the whole matter, will be published elsewhere.
