From the Editor

With this first issue of the new year, I'm pleased to welcome a new member of the editorial board. David Flaxbart, Chemistry Librarian at the University of Texas, Austin, will lend his expertise to this journal.

This is also a good time to take stock of where things stand with ISTL. In 1999 we had over 30,000 visits to the ISTL home page. That seems a respectable number for a specialized journal.
