Abstract Antonin Artaud, who stages his mental coma in defense of poetry, is usually misunderstood and misinterpreted as insane. Particularly his late writings are rarely read but fervently pathologized. The present book ventures readings in the poet1s alchemy of letters, which releases the matter of an ostracized language and frees a poem which has continually been aborted by history. To Artaud, words are sore and festering wounds within grammaticalstructure. In the movement of poetical elements at rage which reverberate from a buried music, words melt into the tone and timbre of a cry with many voices and into the body of a different language. Artaud1s dramatic scheme of the disappearance and revision of a culture as well as his autopsy of the logos make him the athlete of a logic of affection which ought to become epidemic...
