Members of the Union

The following countries were members of IMU as of January 1, 1996:

Group I:
Armenia, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Croatia, Cuba, Egypt, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ivory Coast, Democratic Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Philippines, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovenia, Tunisia, Turkey, Vietnam, Venezuela

Group II:
Argentina, Austria, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Georgia, Iran, Ireland, Mexico, Republic of Korea, Slovak Republic, South Africa, Yugoslavia

Group III:
Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Hungary, India, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland

Group IV:
Canada, Israel, Italy

Group V:
China, France, Germany, Japan, Russia, United Kingdom, USA

In the last IMU Meeting, held in New York from April 11-12, 1996, the following countries were accepted as new country members of the Executive Committee of IMU, in Group I, as for January 1, 1997: Latvia and Uruguay
