Abstract

The available work develops a Community of Learning on Demand (short: CLOD), a model for teachers to become qualified in the design of multimedia learning environments. It will allow their students to be able to learn in an active, constructional, social and cooperative process, using computers and the internet as their tools. The first and third phase of the teacher's education is to be in a cooperative and interactive environment. The objective is the acquisition of medium-technical as well as didactic authoritive skills. The implementation method of a Learning Community is selected, which makes the teachers available a learning environment. So their own " teaching learning " is self controlled so far as possible during an active and interactive social process. In this way different aspects of expert's assessment of different users takes effect as well as the collective knowledge in the Community. Common action base, forming a planning model for the integration of computer-based media, which developed the author with pupils during a process for many years at a primary school. In the results of a formative evaluation of case studies the CLOD model showed sensible beginnings to offer to teachers an action base and support resources to the self-control of their own "teaching learning". However it became clear above all, that the problems of the teachers to integrate computers and the Internet into their instruction in the medium-technical area was not the only problem. To determine other concerns the modification of their didactical conception of teaching and learning need to be clarified and moving towards problem solving technique within teaching environments. Pupils can come to realize that the focal point of their learning process can use computer-based media as tools in an individualized and differentiated instructional model. Perspectives are pointed out, which can flow into an advancement of the model.
