Abstract

In this dissertation the historico-philosophical ideas of more or less well-known Cphilosophers are presented, which are of non-marxian origin. The author deals with the peculiar interpretation of the world's history by slavophile and eurasian thinkers. The main representatives of these schools are, according to him, Nikolaj Danilevsky and Konstantin Leontjev in the 19th, Nikolaj Trubezkoj and Lev Gumilev in the 20th century. They have succeeded, that is the author's thesis, in drafting a particularistic, not universal interpretation of history, which is based on and moved by independently existing, obeying specific rules and producing values of their own, cultures. Beyond that, it is the intention of this treatise to make known the different interpretations of Russian and European history by Russian philosophers. This very endeavour is not only of historical interest, but of actual political relevance and eminent philosophical importance also In the last but one chapter, there is presented a representative of the modern Eurasian school, Alexander Panarin, who tries to use slavophile ideas for an ideological purpose by formulating a political programme for the envisaged by him "Eurasian Community". In the last chapter the Russian philosophers of history in both its versions are critically examined. Their findings are analysed in respect of their ideological inclination as well as of their philosophical substance.
