Retail Publications

Historic Scotland safeguards the nation's built heritage and promotes its understanding and enjoyment. In support of these aims we produce a wide range of publications, of which over 140 are available to buy on-line via a secure server.

Some titles will be of particular value to professionals working in conservation, others, such as the guidebooks and the Batsford/Historic Scotland series, will appeal to the general reader. Our titles for schools are intended to promote an interest in Scottish history and architecture in the younger generation.

Our publications combine value for money and high standards of scholarship and accuracy with readability and quality illustration.

They also provide a key to help the ever growing number of people concerned about their historic environment to unlock new knowledge of all the many aspects of Scotland's exciting built heritage.
